Experienced Striker Returns to Cables
Pitching In Northern Premier League Division One North West club Prescot Cables have re-signed well-travelled striker Jamie Rainford.

The 32-year-old prolific marksman had re-joined league rivals Widnes in January 2020.

 

He first came to prominence with Cables, where he stayed for close to two seasons, before transferring to Marine AFC.

 

His career really took off at this point with the then youngster's 28 goals in 2010/11 drawing attention from Football League scouts.

 

The 2018/19 season saw the now experienced hitman finish joint second in the NPL North West charts with 22 goals while serving Widnes, Clitheroe and Ramsbottom United.

 

He had ended the previous season with Colwyn Bay, having joined the Welsh club from Glossop North End in February 2017 after netting 29 goals for the Hillmen in 2015/16.

 

He signed for Mossley AFC from rivals Runcorn Linnets in November 2019 and his other former clubs also include Chester, FC Halifax Town, Connah's Quay Nomads and Witton Albion.
