Ravas (pictured) joins Pools on loan from SkyBet Championship side Derby County and for the full
2020/21 season.
The
6’4” Slovakian joined Derby after spending time with both League One side
Peterborough United and National League North outfit Boston United on
non-contract terms.
Ravas
gained valuable experience with Derby’s under-23s in the EFL Trophy during the
2016/17 season, playing in the group stage fixtures at Port Vale and Doncaster
Rovers.
The
2017/18 campaign was a positive one for Ravas, as he spent the season on loan
at then-National League North outfit Gainsborough Trinity.
He
appeared 43 times in total and, despite several fine performances which
resulted in him being named as Gainsborough’s young player of the year, he was
unable to help the side avoid relegation.
He
acted as Derby’s third-choice goalkeeper upon his return to Pride Park during
the 2018/19 and 2019/20 seasons and appeared as an unused sub on several
occasions, as well developing his talent alongside head goalkeeping coach Shay
Given.
Hartlepool
have also signed Lewis Cass on loan.
The
defender also arrives on a season-long loan from Premier League side Newcastle
United.
A
regular for the under-23s, Cass captained his side against Crewe Alexandra on
Tuesday night and has impressed continuously throughout the years.
Equally
capable at right back or at centre-back, he figured for North Shields juniors
before joining United at the age of 12.
Cass
has been an ever-present for the under-23 squad in recent years after signing
his first professional contract with the club in July 2018 and featured on the
bench for Newcastle’s Emirates FA Cup Third Round clash at Rochdale. |
