Purcell Returns to Urchins
Hornchurch have announced the return of striker George Purcell, who moves across from Pitching In Isthmian League Premier Division rivals Bowers & Pitsea.

The 32-year-old had only signed for Bowers & Pitsea in July having left the Urchins in May 2019 to join Isthmian North side Canvey Island.

 

He is Hornchurch`s all-time record goalscorer, notching 149 times in 279 appearances.

 

Having played youth football for Gillingham, he went on to play for the likes of Ebbsfleet United, Braintree Town, York City, Dartford and Tonbridge Angels.

 

He originally joined Hornchurch from Margate in July 2013, going on to finish each of the six seasons he spent at Bridge Avenue as top scorer.

 

He moved to league rivals Grays Athletic in October 2019, to another, Great Wakering Rovers, in January 2020, then to Isthmian South East outfit Ashford United a month later before joining Bowers & Pitsea in July 2020.
