....Neil Austin on a deal that keeps him at the club until the end of the 2018/19 season.

Capable of slotting in anywhere across the back line, Austin has most recently seen service with the bow defunct Shaw Lane AFC but is most remembered for over 200 Football League appearances for Hartlepool United and Darlington as well as appearing for Barnsley in the Premier League.

At 34 years of age, Austin brings a mature, no-nonsense approach to defending as well as offering great flexibility with his ability to play in a range of positions.

Having impressed both in training and in two outings so far in pre-season, Trinity boss Lee Sinnott moved swiftly to the Austin down, telling http://www.gainsboroughtrinity.com: "Observing Neil in training and the way he conducts himself is second to none. The attitude he displays is exactly what we are looking for and the influence he has had and will have on the other members of the team is first class".
