Manager
Liam McDonald has swooped to sign striker Danny Glover, who was released by
league rivals Hednesford Town earlier this week, and midfielder Tom Thorley.
Glover,
31, re-joined Hednesford for a third spell in May 2019 from Northern Premier
League Premier Division side Nantwich Town.
He
had joined the Dabbers in June 2018 from Hednesford following a
two-and-a-half-year spell with the Pitmen, having scored 27 goals in all
competitions in 2017/18.
He
began his career at Port Vale and made his first-team debut in a 2-2 draw with
Morecambe before scoring his first professional goal against Northampton Town
in another 2-2 draw.
He
has plenty of non-League experience, having also played for Worcester City,
Stockport County and Bradford Park Avenue.
His
first spell with Hednesford came in 2014 where he scored 9 times in a season
that saw the side lose to Altrincham in the Conference North play-offs.
He
re-joined the Pitmen in 2016 following a spell at AFC Telford United, and he
scored his 50th goal for the club in a 5-0 win over Basford United in 2017.
Thorley (pictured) arrives at Dales Lane from NPL Premier Division strugglers and now managerless
Stafford Rangers.
The
experienced 30-year-old moved back to his home-town club at the start of the
2018/19 season.
In
a previous spell with Rangers he became a firm fans favourite.
He
started his career as a junior at Stoke City. He had two loans spells at
Rangers in 2009 and moved to Marston Road on a permanent basis, having been
released by Stoke.
He
moved on to Worcester City in 2010 to pursue his studies and remained at
Worcester for three seasons before a move to Hednesford Town where he remained
until his transfer to Boro, with the exception of a brief period at AFC Telford
United.
