The experienced attacking-midfielder signs after being released by Blackpool at the end of last season.

Philliskirk played 40 games for the Seasiders over a two-and-a-half-year spell.

Born in Oldham, the 27-year-old started his career as a youngster with Oldham Athletic before moving south to sign for Chelsea in 2007.

He spent four years on the Blues` books without breaking into the senior side but did make his League bow with loan spells at Sheffield United and Oxford United.

He made the move to Bramall Lane a more permanent one in 2011 but was sent back to Oxford on loan again.

A switch to Coventry City came in 2013 but he made just a single first-team appearance for the Sky Blues before returning `home` to Oldham in August 2013.

Back home, his career took off and he became a regular with the Latics, going on to play 104 times and score 13 goals until being transferred to Blackpool for an undisclosed fee in January 2016.

Whilst acknowledging there was interest from other clubs, a chat with Coasters manager Dave Challinor left Philliskirk in no doubt of his preferred destination. Philliskirk told http://www.afcfylde.co.uk: “I had heard good things about the club, I knew they were interested, I came and met Chally, had a look around and I’ve never looked back, the facilities here really open up your eyes and it’s great to see what they’re doing.

“A couple of other clubs were interested but it was important for me to be close to home and my family”.
