Dean takes over the role vacated by Adam Hayes, who has stepped down due to business commitments.

Hayes told https://www.pitchero.com/clubs/nuneatonboroughfc: "Due to business reasons I have had to resign from the position of chairman. I would like to place on record my belief in the future prosperity of the club and thanks for all who have supported the transition over the recent years."

Manager and club owner Jimmy Ginnelly added: "I am gutted that Adam Hayes is to take a step back from the role due to work commitments, but he has done an amazing job up to this point and will be handing the job over to Jason.

“I am delighted to welcome Jason Dean on board as our new chairman as for the past 18 months he has been a massive part of the driving force behind the scenes putting together our fantastic junior section and academy alongside Adam. These two guys have been working very closely together for the club for a long time now and seem to have had a very good understanding of what we're trying to create down here at Liberty Way and across the town.

“When Adam told me he was stepping back Jason was the ideal candidate to step into this vital role of leading the club as the new chairman. I have to say I have been amazingly impressed with his work in and around the junior section along with his excellent team. I know he will lead the club on the right path alongside the other directors we have on board. He's a hands-on guy who's down the ground as often as he can be and he's already chaired a number of meetings in Adams absence so I would like to say a very big welcome aboard Jason and I hope you lead us to great things."

Dean said: "Well, first of all I would like to say what a honour to be asked to take on this role at the club. I have been a fan since my childhood, and this really is a proud day and means a lot. It has been a whirlwind 18 months since I first got involved with the junior section as chairman and in that time, I think we can safely say there is never a dull moment at the Boro.

“There has been a huge amount of work going on behind the scenes over the last few months to get the club set on some solid foundations. There are a fantastic bunch of people working hard on a daily basis to keep this club going and after a few uncertain years we are looking forwards rather than over our shoulder. Everyone from the directors, staff, volunteers and loyal fan base are Nuneaton people and want what is best for the club. We are really starting to build a community feel around the place and want to continue that great work and keep driving forward.

“I would like to thank my predecessor Adam Hayes for the work and effort he and Jimmy have put in over the last two years in getting the club to this point. There has been a lot of blood, sweat and tears gone in to stabilise us and give us a platform to build on.

“I am really looking forward to getting stuck into the job and we'll hopefully be back to some kind of normality soon. I can’t wait to see us playing football in front of the fans again and rest assured the hard work will continue behind the scenes".
