With over 2,000 non-League managerial games under his belt in a thirty-plus year career, Reed brings a wealth of experience and football connections with him to the Raygar Stadium.

His undoubted managerial highlights include taking Bridlington Town to the FA Vase Final in 1990 and winning the NPL Division One championship with Harrogate Town in the 2001/02 season.

More recently, Reed has held managerial roles at Gainsborough Trinity, Shaw Lane and Ossett Town but his football CV extends to a number of other senior non-League clubs across the north of England.

Taking over from the recently departed Steve Ridley, Reed will work alongside manager, Grant Black and his assistant, Mick Norbury.

The Nailers manager told https://www.belpertownfc.co.uk: “Mick and I are very much looking forward to working with Reedy, and it was important for us to replace Steve Ridley on the management team.”

Norbury added: “I want to welcome John to the club and looking forward to working and learning from him.

“I also want to wish everyone associated with the football club a very Merry Christmas and hope 2021 will be better and we all get to see each other and get to see some football also”.
