He has penned a three-year deal with Graham Alexander’s ambitious outfit.
Lloyd started out with Southport in 2009 and had loan spells at Skelmersdale United and Chorley.
In 2011 he moved to Colwyn Bay, returning to the Welsh club following a stint with Lincoln City.
He returned to the highest level of non-League football in January 2013 when he made the move to Tamworth.
At the end of the season, he returned to the north, signing for AFC Fylde.
The Coasters secured promotion to the Conference North in 2014 with Lloyd finishing that successful campaign as the joint top scorer.
Stockport County came calling during the summer of 2016 and Lloyd hit a spell of tremendous form at Edgeley Park and the following season and he ended up with a haul of 29 goals.
Unsurprisingly, there was interest from the Football League following the expiry of his contract with Stockport at the end of the season.
League One Peterborough won the race for Lloyd’s signature and he signed a three-year contract with the Posh.
He made his debut off the bench during the season opener against Plymouth Argyle and scored his first goal against Northampton Town in the Capital One Cup.
He notched a hat-trick against Tranmere Rovers in the Emirates FA Cup and by the end of the season had scored 13 goals in 37 outings.
Lloyd did not link up with the Posh squad for their flight to Portugal to complete the formalities with the Ammies, who were promoted into the National League last season. |
