Whittle,
who is a 27-year-old left-back, was a free agent after leaving Rowe`s former
club Gloucester City.
He
had joined the Tigers in July 2020 from National League North rivals Boston
United, where he had been since June 2019.
He
started his career with Liverpool and after being released from Anfield he
joined the Glenn Hoddle Academy in Spain in February 2011 and the Nike Academy
for the 2011/12 season.
He
was signed by Scottish Championship side Dunfermline Athletic in April 2012 and
went on to make 78 appearances in a three-year spell north of the border.
In
September 2015, he signed for National League North side AFC Fylde and moved a
few miles down the coast to Southport in March 2016.
In
the summer of 2016, he joined then-National League outfit York City and made 59
appearances before leaving for League Two side Forest Green Rovers in December
2017.
After
a loan spell back at Southport towards the end of the 2017/18 season, he moved
to Pitching In Northern Premier League Premier Division side Warrington Town in
September 2018.
