The
experienced 34-year-old made close to 350 professional appearances.
He
was also was capped by the Republic of Ireland at Youth international level
from under-14 to under-19.
He
started his career with Leicester City and joined Boston United in an emergency
loan deal in December 2005 when the club were left without any goalkeeping
cover following injury.
The
young Logan went straight into the side that faced Lincoln City on Boxing Day
at Sincil Bank and he acquitted himself well in the 0-0 draw.
When
his initial loan spell ended, he signed up until the end of the 2005/06 season.
However, he was recalled to Leicester in February 2006 to provide cover
following an injury to first choice keeper Rab Douglas.
He
then returned to Boston for a further loan-spell when Michel Kuipers loan-spell
ended.
Later
had loan spells with Stockport County twice, Luton Town, Bristol Rovers, Rotherham
United and Rochdale before being released by Leicester in 2015/16.
He
moved `north of the border` to join Scottish Premiership side Hibernian, and although
he made just 8 appearances, became a fan favourite for his role in the club`s
Scottish Cup victory.
Nicknamed
the `Polar Bear`, Logan made two saves in the penalty shoot-out win over Dundee
United in the semi-final before starring in the 3-2 victory over Glasgow
Rangers.
He
left the club in the summer of 2016 and returned to England to join Rochdale
before spells at Mansfield Town and Forest Green Rovers.
In
November 2020, Logan turned down offers to return to the Football League and
officially committed to Uhlsport United Counties League Premier Division side Anstey
Nomads as a player, but also as a coach with the club's junior team and as a
guide to the other coaches at the Leicestershire outfit, who were unbeaten at
the time of lockdown.
