Ackland joins the club from SkyBet Championship side AFC Bournemouth, where he coached within the academy structure for the past ten years.

During his time with The Cherries, Ackland coached and mentored many of the professional players who made their way through the youth system at Bournemouth.

Additionally, he worked with former professional players learning their trade as coaches under Ackland’s guidance.

He has also served as a head academy coach at Southampton, Ipswich Town, Chelsea, director of football with ISC Arsenal in the United States, and manager of BAT when they were in the fifth tier of the non-League Pyramid.

Ackland holds his UEFA A Part 1, and UEFA B License.

He told https://alresfordtownfc.co.uk: “I have been wishing to move into management at the senior level for some time. I was looking and waiting for the right club, with strong foundations and a clear idea of what they wish to achieve both on and off the pitch.

“After speaking numerous times with the chairman and secretary, you feel the desire to achieve something special with the club. The ambition and professionalism are there and in working for so many years within the professional game, that was important for me to find a club which aligns with my past experiences and allows for my future endeavors. I'm excited to be joining the club and getting to work”.
