The start of the 2017/18 season saw a new consortium, headed up by chairman Gareth Davies and Charlery agree to become the new custodians of London Colney, who were perilously close to folding.

But, following a shareholder meeting on Saturday, the club announced that Charlery`s assistant, Jack Metcalfe, would take over as manager with immediate effect.

Metcalfe is well-known to non-League fans across Hertfordshire as an experienced goalkeeper, who acted as the club`s number two custodian last season and for the games that took place in 2020/21.

Amongst his previous clubs are Wingate & Finchley and Welwyn Garden City.
