Short began his career in the Exeter City youth set-up from the under-10s to the under-16s before signing for College Richard Huish where his performances earned him a move to his home-town club Taunton Town.

He joined Tiverton at the start of the 2016/17 season and helped them to win promotion.

With the new season approaching manager Richard Fey was delighted to add proven Southern League experience to his squad.

Short told https://www.streetfootballclub.com: "I’m delighted to have joined Street and start a new challenge. I look forward to playing with the lads who did fantastic last year and hopefully we can continue that form and have a great season".

Manager Fey added: "This is a great signing for the club. I spoke to Jamie when the season ended and he decided to stay at Tivvy. But I had a call to asked if offer was still there and I couldn’t turn down a player of his ability.

“Shorty has his own business and I think the travelling in that league above is too much. He has joined on less money and less travelling and I think this will suit him."

Short follows the arrival of another experienced Southern League campaigner in Brett Trowbridge – the former Weston-super-Mare and Taunton defender having joined last month.
