Dicks, who will be taking over from July 1st, will resume his partnership with former Colchester United favourite Karl Duguid.

Dicks has left his role as first-team coach at West Bromwich Albion in December 2020 following the sacking of manager Slavan Bilic, for whom he also worked with at West Ham until November 2017.

The former hard-tackling defender made his name as a free-scoring and uncompromising full-back for West Ham, Birmingham City and Liverpool, and has managed teams including Wivenhoe Town and Grays Athletic.

He was first in charge of Swifts from October 2018.
