Shaw
is currently the professional development phase lead coach at SkyBet League One
side Lincoln City and head of football at Nottingham Trent University, and will
combine these roles with his position with Trinity.
Shaw
boasts a wealth of footballing experience, having come through the ranks at
Nottingham Forest and Rushden & Diamonds, as well as representing England C.
He
holds a UEFA A License qualification, has been on the coaching scene since
2015, as he worked as the academy lead coach for Championship side Derby
County.
During
this period, Shaw has also been player/assistant manager at Chester, where he
scored 12 goals in over 100 appearances, won player of the year award in the
2016/17 season, and also spent time as caretaker manager.
He
joined the Imps in June 2018 and is an extremely bright and talented young
coach, highly rated by Lincoln and within professional football.
He
will use all the contacts that he has developed through his various roles in
football, to build a new young squad within a vastly reduced playing budget due
to the financial pressures brought on by the pandemic.
