Defender
Zaine Francis-Angol (pictured) moved north after leaving league rivals Boreham Wood.
The
27-year-old signed for Wood in early September 2020 after the expiration of his
contract with League One side Accrington Stanley, and made 16 appearances this
season.
The
former Tottenham-Hotspur full-back joined National League club AFC Fylde in the
summer of 2017 having left Kidderminster Harriers at the end of the previous
season.
He
experienced top-flight football in Scotland with Motherwell where he spent four
years after leaving White Hart Lane.
Whilst
at Motherwell, he also experienced playing in the Champions League against
Greek side Panathinaikos.
He
is also a full international at senior level having gained 18 caps so far for
Antigua & Barbuda.
He
was Fylde`s 2017/18 player of the year and then returned to the League with
Accrington Stanley in July 2019.
Pools
have also signed goalkeeper Brad James on loan from SkyBet Championship side
Middlesbrough until the end of the season.
James
joined Boro’s academy at the age of 13 and his scholarship was extended in the
summer of 2017 and he joined Northern League side Billingham Town on `work
experience` in late 2017 to gain competitive experience.
Season
2018/19 proved a progressive one for James, with 16 appearances made for the
under-23s.
He
was on the bench when they win their first-ever game in the Checkatrade Trophy,
1-0 away to Burton Albion in November 2018.
In
July 2019, he linked up with National League North side Gateshead on loan for
the season and played a vital part in the Gateshead play-off push.
In
November 2020, he joined Pools` league rivals Aldershot Town on a
month’s loan and was awarded man of the match in his first game, a 1-0 win over
Notts County. |
