Initially
signed as a goalkeeping coach by the Stones, Lewington was thrust into first
team action and the 32-year-old impressed, performing well in the league and
propelling the club to the Kent Senior Cup title, thanks to his penalty shoot-out
exploits against Gillingham and Bromley.
Formerly
with Charlton Athletic, Erith & Belvedere, Dulwich Hamlet, Fisher Athletic
and Leatherhead, he really came to the fore with then-League Two side Dagenham
& Redbridge.
He
went on to make over 140 appearances for the Daggers before moving to
Colchester United in 2014.
Since
then he has had spells with Margate, Welling United, Dover Athletic and Weymouth
before joining Maidstone in 2019. |
