Campbell Joins Rivals

Gateshead have signed striker Adam Campbell from Vanarama National League North rivals Darlington.

The 26-year-old joined the Quakers in July 2019 after he was released by SkyBet League Two side Morecambe.

He started his career at Newcastle United where he became the youngest player to play for the club in a European competition aged 17 when he played for them in the Europa League.

A former England under-16, 17 and under-19 international, after several loan spells including at Hartlepool United and Gateshead, he signed for Notts County in 2015 where he stayed for two seasons.

He moved to Morecambe and in 2018/19 he had a loan spell with another League Two side Carlisle United.
