Roberts Makes Hawks Switch
Havant & Waterlooville have announced the arrival of striker James Roberts as their first new signing for the upcoming 2021/22 Vanarama National League South campaign.

The 24-year-old joins from league rivals Oxford City, who he signed for in June 2020.

 

Roberts joined City from National League North outfit Spennymoor Town, for whom he signed for in June 2019 from rivals Hereford FC.

 

After spending his youth career at Wycombe Wanderers, he moved to Oxford United where he signed his first professional contract before breaking into the first team, both at the age of 18.

 

The front man capped a superb debut for Oxford by scoring twice at Grimsby Town in November 2014 during a First Round FA Cup tie.

 

He also spent time on loan with Chester, Oxford City, Barnet, Stalybridge Celtic and Guiseley AFC whilst on the U`s books.

 

He signed for Hereford in October 2018 having featured for Halesowen Town in the Southern Premier Division Central, where he had scored 8 times.

 

He was loaned out to another Southern Premier Central outfit, Alvechurch, from March 2019 and he notched 6 goals in 9 games.
