Bobby Wilkinson, manager of Pitching In Isthmian League South Central Division club Bracknell Town, has announced the signings of Dave Tarpey and James Clark.

The vastly experienced 32-year-old Tarpey has dropped down from the Vanarama National League with Woking to join the Robins after the Cards made the decision to turn full-time in line with the majority of clubs in the division.

Tarpey (pictured) joined Woking in June 2019 after a successful loan spell from Barnet the previous season.

The prolific marksman had signed for Barnet from Maidenhead United ahead of the 2017/18 season for an undisclosed fee.

He began his career at Henley Town before joining Basingstoke Town two years later.

His next club was Hampton & Richmond Borough before he was sent out on loan twice to Walton & Hersham and Chertsey Town respectively.

Farnborough was his move in 2012 before returning to Hampton. However, it was Maidenhead where he really made a name for himself after bagging 95 goals in 141 appearances, 45 of them coming in their National League South title-winning season of 2016/17.

His prolific form at York Road awarded him with a move to the Football League but it didn’t get off to the best of starts as he damaged his ACL in September 2017 which meant he had to watch the rest of the season from the sidelines.

Clark is an attacking midfielder who has played for Wilkinson before at both Hungerford Town and Wealdstone.

He makes the switch to Bracknell from league rivals and neighbours Marlow, for whom he joined in in June 2020 from Hayes & Yeading United.

Clark signed for Hayes & Yeading in the summer of 2019 having closed out the previous campaign with then-National League South side Wealdstone.

His early career saw him turn out for Thatcham Town and Didcot Town before he found a regular place with Hungerford, making around 200 appearances in four seasons.

He switched to Wealdstone in May 2018 and spent time at both Thatcham and Marlow in 2018/19 on dual registration from the Stones.
