Carter guided United Counties League club
Long Buckby to promotion from Division One before having a difference of opinion
over the friendly cup competition that was held after restrictions were lifted
following lockdown.
Carter said: “I wanted to get straight
back into it after leaving Long Buckby and after getting them promoted to the UCL
Premier Division.
“I made it clear when I spoke to the
club that I won’t join to settle and plod along. I want to win – I`ve been used
to it over the last two seasons with only five league defeats in 40/50 games
and less than 10 in all competitions, so I fully expect us to match that and
again anything less is not good enough. It will be tough, and we will have to
be at our best throughout, but I’m used to winning and that’s how I set my teams
up so if we don’t, we have all failed each other.
“I expect the team to kick on and be
within the top eight if we`re not, we have all failed. I`ve had a good run in
the FA Vase so hopefully a few wins in that which will help bring money to the
club and as Dicko has mentioned often enough to me he has won at the Ricoh
Arena a few times!”
