Goncalves progressed through the ranks
at Grantham Town and was the first player from their academy scholarship to
sign a contract with the Gingerbreads after netting 46 goals in their pathway
scheme.
He signed for Wisbech Town in November
of last year, was also part of Peterborough United's futsal squad and
has also had a loan spell in the Midland League with Newark Flowserve.
Manager Graham Drury told the club`s
website: “I'm chuffed to say that Rodrigo has signed for Stamford. He played in
four games back in April, he really showed what a talent he is with his pace,
eye for a goal, and direct running at players. I know he's going to be a crowd
pleaser.
“Rodrigo is a young hungry player that
wants to progress in the game, I really hope it's with this club. He has a
bright future and if he works hard, I'm sure he will fulfil it.
“Rodrigo has been chased by a few clubs
for his signature, but he selected Stamford after playing in the four games. He
really mixed with the lads and the lads really took to him”. |
