Vastly experienced midfielder Danny
Bragoli (pictured) makes the short move from Pitching In Southern League Premier Division
Central neighbours Rushall Olympic.
The 35-year-old ended a five-year spell
with Halesowen Town by signing for Southern Division One South side Evesham
United in June 2019 and then moved to Rushall in March 2020.
He began his career with Shrewsbury
Town and also had international call-ups from Wales at under-14, 15 and
under-16 level.
A highly competitive player with a good
engine, he started in non-League football at Willenhall Town and had spells
with Stourport Swifts and later played professionally in the USA with
Wilmington Hammerhead.
He re-joined Stourport but then had
spells with Hednesford Town, Willenhall, Chasetown, Rushall and Tipton Town,
where he made almost 250 appearances.
As skipper he led out Tipton in their
historic FA Cup tie at Carlisle United, which they eventually lost 6-0 back in
November 2010.
He re-signed for Rushall from Tipton
during the summer of 2011 to begin a second spell at Dales Lane before
switching to the Knitters in December 2011.
He played for Chasetown before joining
the Yeltz in September 2015.
Re-joining Wood are goalkeeper Lloyd
Ransome, striker Paul Sullivan and midfielder Mitch Tolley.
Ransome, 30, followed Byfield from
Walsall Wood to Southern Premier Central outfit Alvechurch in June 2019.
Also an impressive boxer, his other
former clubs include Port Vale, Stafford Rangers and Hednesford Town.
Sullivan returns from Evesham.
Formerly with Wednesfield and
Chasetown, Sullivan made the step up to the Conference (National League) North
with Hednesford Town in the 2014/15 season.
After struggling for form and fitness
during the early stages of the campaign, Sullivan was loaned back to Chasetown
for a month in January 2015 in a bid to gain much-needed fitness and
goalscoring form.
His second spell for the Scholars was a
massive success, as he scored 12 goals in 12 games to help Chasetown escape the
NPL First Division South drop zone.
However, he moved on to Hinckley in
2016 where he again found form and goals before signing for Wood for the first
time in June 2017.
Tolley arrives back at Wood from NPL
Premier Division side Stafford Rangers.
Tolley, 27, is an uncompromising and
classy defensive midfielder, who joined Rushall Olympic in 2010 from Bloxwich
United, who he captained to the Walsall Senior Cup title – against Rushall –
and back-to-back JW Hunt Cup championships.
He signed for Rangers in May 2016 and
then made his first move to Wood in the summer of 2017.
Another former Chasetown player is
central midfielder Lee Butler.
He was Hinckley AFC`s captain under
Carl Abbott after playing over 150 games at Chasetown, and has also played at Step
4 with Northwich Victoria, Romulus and Market Drayton Town.
Known as something of a set piece
specialist.
Another very experienced recruit is
pacey wide midfielder Lee Chilton/
Now 36, the well-travelled Chilton has
turned out for Alvechurch, Leamington, Halesowen Town, Tividale, Willenhall
Town, Stourbridge, Hinckley United and AFC Telford United amongst others.
He signed for Evesham in July 2019 and
then joined Midland Leaguers Sporting Khalsa in the summer of 2020 before
arriving at Southern Premier Division Central outfit Bromsgrove Sporting in
November 2020. |
