The 24-year-old was given the
opportunity to carry on playing in the truncated 2020/21 season by joining
Sutton and played a major part of their success in becoming champions of the
National League.
Wilson signed for Bath in September
2020.
Having started in the youth set up at
Bristol Rovers at the age of 7, he was signed by Wolverhampton Wanderers in
January 2015 and has gained Football League experience at Port Vale and Exeter
City on loan, as well as two spells in Spanish football at Jumilla and Burgos.
Upon his return to England the
23-year-old joined then-League Two side Macclesfield Town in February 2020.
He was loaned to National League Sutton
United from March 2021 until the end of the 2020/21 campaign.
Sutton manager Matt Gray told his
club`s website: “I’d like to thank Bath City and Jerry Gill for their
co-operation over the last three months, firstly with the loan signing and now
in making Donovan’s move permanent. They have been a pleasure to deal with.
“We knew when Donovan joined us on loan
that we had a top player, and he showed that with the number of crucial goals
he scored in the championship run-in. We’re absolutely delighted to have him
now as a permanent signing, and we’re looking forward to him scoring more goals
in the EFL”. |
