Dan
Crane, James Bowen, Ben George and Robbie Thompson Brown have all joined the
Mikes from higher-level clubs.
Vastly
experienced 37-year-old goalkeeper Crane arrives from Pitching In Northern
Premier League Division One Midlands new boys Bedworth United, who he had re-joined
in late August 2019.
He
was a key member of the Greenbacks promotion-winning team in 2017 and reached
the play-off semi-finals again with Alvechurch in 2018/19.
He
returned to the Oval after a short spell as player/assistant-manager at Midland
League side Gresley FC.
He
started his career at West Bromwich Albion before moving on at 19 to find first
team football.
He
played for two years at Burton Albion under Nigel Clough, which then earned him
a move back to the Football League with now-defunct Rushden & Diamonds.
At
23, he started to forge a career in non-League football, playing for clubs such
as Hednesford Town, Solihull Moors and Brackley Town.
He
made 350 appearances at Hednesford being involved in four play-off campaigns
before going on to win promotion with Bedworth.
Bowen
is a 25-year-old defender who arrives at Boldmere from Bedworth`s league rivals
Halesowen Town.
He
joined the Yeltz in May 2019 from Redditch United, having made the move to the
Reds in February 2019 from Vanarama National League North outfit Leamington.
He
had signed for the Brakes in the summer of 2018, having finished the previous
season with Hereford FC.
Having
started the season with the Bulls, he was snapped up by Solihull Moors in
October 2017, but a managerial change eventually saw him return to Edgar Street
to help them to the Southern League title.
He
began his career at Cheltenham Town, making several first-team appearances
before loan spells at Bishops Cleeve, Evesham United, Gloucester City and
Hereford.
After
his release from Cheltenham, he spent a season at Stafford Rangers in the
Northern Premier League.
George
is another defender who makes the relatively short trip from another NPL
Division One Midlands outfit, Sutton Coldfield Town.
He
had signed for the Royals from league rivals Stamford AFC on a permanent basis
in 2018.
The
27-year-old is an experienced full-back having started his career at Walsall
and had spells at Stourbridge, Chasetown, Rugby Town and Leamington before
joining Stamford.
Well-travelled
wide midfielder Thompson-Brown (pictured) moves to the Mikes from NPL Premier Division outfit
Stafford Rangers.
The
28-year-old had re-joined Stafford in September 2019 from Bromsgrove Sporting,
for whom he had joined for an undisclosed fee from Southern Premier Central
rivals Stourbridge.
He
had joined the Glassboys a year earlier having started out in the youth system
at Kidderminster Harriers.
He
then spent time with Redditch United and Stratford Town before returning to the
Aggborough fold.
He
moved on to Nuneaton Borough for the 2012/13 season and had spells out on loan
with Daventry Town and Leamington.
He
signed for Hednesford Town in August 2013 and enjoyed one season at Keys Park
before joining Halesowen Town in July 2014.
A
move to Stratford followed in February 2015 where he helped to win promotion
from the Southern South & West Division via the play-offs before he joined
Redditch United in December 2015.
He
signed for Leamington in the summer of 2016, and he spent one-and-a-half years
with the Brakes, scoring from the spot in their Southern Premier play-off final
victory over Hitchin Town in May 2017 that took the club back to the National
League North and also in their Birmingham Senior Cup final win on penalties
over Wolves.
He
netted 6 times in 22 appearances for Leamington before joining Stafford for the
first time in December 2017 and subsequently helped them to lift the
Staffordshire Senior Cup in April 2018.
In
addition, former Walsall scholar Alex McSkeane has signed first team forms,
having progressed through the club`s college and under 21-teams. |
