Bailey made more than 520 appearances for the Almonds over 17 seasons and had been in the managerial hot seat for four years.

However, work and family commitments have forced this decision on him.

“The club is in a better place and I am very proud of my involvement in that,” said Bailey, who thanked his assistants, former Bristol Rovers player Jeff Meacham and Almondsbury player Danny Lane, for their support.

Interested parties should contact chairman Mike Blessing on 07974 074388 or email doug2004.coles@blueyonder.co.uk by June 21st.
