The
20-year-old joined the Seagulls in July 2019 after being released by League Two
side Forest Green Rovers.
He
started out in the Bristol Rovers academy after joining during the under-7
phase, where he spent ten seasons, before heading to Forest Green and linking
up with their under-18 side in the summer of 2017.
During
the 2017/18 season, he was an unused sub three times under Mark Cooper and in
January 2019, he went out on a ‘work experience’ loan to Uhlsport Hellenic
League side Longlevens, where he made 6 appearances and scored one goal.
During
his second season as a scholar at Forest Green, he was named the academy
players’ player for 2018/19.
Manager
Richard Fey told his club`s website: “I’m really pleased to get Sam over the
line. He was really keen to join and liked what we had to say.
“He
is another player at the right age and as a club what we’re trying to build. He
can play anywhere on the pitch and has great energy and eye for goal. He has
come out of the pro game at Forest Green Rovers and then done well at Weston
and now I’m looking forward to working with him”. |
