Wafula, who turned 27 last week, lived in Matlock from the age of 10.

He joins the Gladiators from Vanarama National League North side Guiseley AFC, who he signed for last summer.

The former Chesterfield trainee has also played for Worksop Town and Shaw Lane AFC.

He joined Boston United in February 2018 after severing ties with then-National League North rivals Gainsborough Trinity.

Matlock boss Paul Phillips told https://www.matlocktownfc.co.uk:

“He’s got pedigree having been in the Conference North for a long time now. He’s a great lad who knows our lads well and can play in numerous positions whether it be as a nine, seven, eleven or ten, he’s 6 ft and can hold the ball up well, we know what we’re getting and it won’t upset the balance of our team, he’s a very, very good player”.
