The loan runs until January 6th, 2019 and there is no recall option attached.

The 21-year-old began his career with Sheffield United before spending time on loan at Curzon Ashton.

After leaving Bramall Lane he linked up with Northwich Victoria before landing a move to the National League with Barrow AFC.

After a loan spell with Stalybridge Celtic he linked up with Southport twelve months ago.

The striker has experience of this level as well having spent two months on loan at Farsley Celtic last season where he scored on his debut and went onto impress during that time.

Following the signing, Smith told http://www.hednesfordtownfc.com: “I know Liam Watson at Southport really well and as soon as he said there may be a chance that Dan could come to us I was keen to make it happen.

“Although still only 21 he has plenty of experience, especially in the National League set-up, and I’m pleased that he has been able to join us for the first half of the upcoming season”.
