The 25-year-old had been with Leek since the beginning of the 2019/20 campaign.

He originally joined Atherton Collieries in 2015 from Salford City, scoring 14 goals in 40 appearances - the highlight being a second half hat-trick against Runcorn Linnets.

Opting to play closer to his hometown, he represented Congleton Town and Sandbach United before returning to Colls in late 2018, helping to lift the Northern Premier Division One West title.

Manager Michael Ellison told his club`s website: “James is someone I’ve tried to sign on a couple of occasions and unfortunately just missed out, so I’m glad to finally get him over the line.

“He’s an old-fashioned centre forward, strong, good in the air with an eye for goal.

“I’m delighted to have him on board”.
