The 21-year-old moves to the U`s from former National League rivals Altrincham.

He signed for Alty in January 2021 after leaving League Two side Mansfield Town.

He joined the Robins on a permanent basis following an initial loan in mid-November.

He graduated from the Mansfield academy and made 6 first-team appearances.

Before joining Alty, he had been on loan at Loughborough Dynamo, Frickley Athletic and Kettering Town.

Smith joins Joe Kizzi in moving from non-League football to join Matt Gray`s side.

Kizzi, 28, is a defender who joins from another former National League rival, Bromley.

He had signed for Bromley in May 2019 after being named in the National League South team of the year during the 2018/19 season, having made 40 appearances, scoring 5 goals for Billericay Town.

Standing 6`2”, he joined Billericay in November 2017 from Isthmian Premier side Wingate & Finchley, having been named in the Isthmian Premier 2017/18 team of the season as well.

He first gained experience at Eton Manor and Enfield 1893 in the Essex Senior League.

In June 2014, he signed for Isthmian North side, Waltham Abbey, and was part of the Abbots side that had the longest FA Cup run in the club’s history, reaching the Third Qualifying Round.

For the 2015/16 campaign, he moved to Cheshunt. Impressing at the Ambers, he attracted the attention of Wingate & Finchley, signing a deal in June 2017.
