Southern Counties East League Round-Up
22-11-2018 I Round-Up News
Corinthian handed Beckenham Town their first Southern Counties East League defeat of the season on Saturday to move up to fifth place and...

....as a result, tighten things up at the top of the Premier Division table.

Kameron Gyeabour scored the only goal of the game just before the break at Gay Dawn Farm.

Chatham Town closed the gap to Beckenham to 5 points after beating close rivals Deal Town 4-0.

After a goalless first half, Chatham hit four through Paul Vines, Alfie Spears and with a Byron Walker brace to claim the win that keeps the pressure on the leaders.

Bearsted won for the eighth time in a row when coming from behind to beat Rusthall 4-2 in Otham to move up to an impressive seventh place.

Callum Ridley had given the visitors the lead before Matt Garner equalised. Reece Collins then scored twice with a Jonathon Rogers goal in between to make it 4-1 to the Bears.

Rusthall hit one back late on through Eddie Sharman but it was too little too late and they have now lost five league games in a row.

Canterbury City came from 2-0 down to win 5-2 and condemn Croydon to their ninth consecutive league defeat.

Malik Nosike scored twice for the basement boys in the first half but Canterbury hit back with a Dave Pilcher brace and one each from Liam Quinn, Jordan Casey and James Turner to claim the win.

It is now six wins in a row for the lethal Cray Valley PM who demolished Hollands & Blair 7-1 at Badger Sports.

Kevin Lisbie returned to the top of the scorers charts with a hat-trick, while Anthony Edgar and Francis Babalola both added a brace for the Millers who are now in third place.

Blair have now lost seven on the spin and lie in 16th place.

Erith Town and Crowborough Athletic drew 1-1 at the Erith Stadium with Luke Leppard giving the visitors the lead and Daniel Palfrey equalising late on for the Dockers.

Fisher won back-to-back games for the first time this campaign when beating K Sports 4-1 at Salter Road.

Mathieu Ramasamy, Tunde Aderonmu, Chandler Kasai and Rob Brown all scored for the hosts with Jason Perry getting a consolation goal for the visitors from the spot.

Antonio Dembele popped up in the 90th minute to score his first goal for Glebe as the visitors shared the points with Lordswood after a 1-1 draw.

Ricky Gundry had earlier scored his 5th goal of the season for the Lords who sit in 9th but are just one point off third with things so tight in the top half of the table.

Sheppey United claimed their fifth win in a row when seeing off AFC Croydon 4-0 at the Havill Stadium.

Timmy Babington continued his fine goalscoring form when getting the opener with Dan Bradshaw doubling the advantage just before the break.

In the final few minutes Chris Edwards twice found the net for the Ites to hand them a convincing victory and move them up to sixth place.

Punjab United scored four late goals to come from behind at Tunbridge Wells and win for the first time in the League since the first day of the Season.

Ian Parsons and Josh Biddlecombe had given the hosts a two-goal lead at the Culverden Stadium before Simon Cuthbert, Luke Adams, Adam Cuthbery and Anthony Adesite fired back for the visitors to give them the win.
