Buckley-Ricketts
created quite an impression in pre-season games and manager Liam Watson was
quick to agree terms with the exciting attacking player.
The
23-year-old Manchester-born forward arrives at Southport after spending his
youth career with Manchester City and he went out on loan to FC Twente and
Oxford United and spent the 2018/19 season with Peterborough United before
returning to the region.
After
progressing through the ranks of Manchester City’s academy, he signed a
scholarship with the club in July 2014 and progressed quickly through the
club’s under-18 side and then the development squad.
He
has played at England under-18, 19 and under-20 level.
Since
leaving Posh, he has been turning out for his local team, Stretford Paddock, in
the Lancashire & Cheshire Amateur League.
