Omombe-Apoyo (pictured), 26, joins the Cuckoos from Southern League Premier Division Central neighbours Peterborough Sports, where he had been since October 2020.

He holds both French and Congolese citizenship and came over to England after spending his playing career in France.

He started out with US Orléans of the Championnat National where he progressed through to play for the B side.

In July 2015, he moved to Ligue 2 Paris FC where he also made the B team. His first taste of senior football came after joining Olympique Saint-Quentin in July 2017 in the Championnat National 3.

A year later he moved to Saint-Quentin`s league rivals Limoges FC where he spent a season – the club effectively folded in January 2020 and placed into compulsory liquidation.

He had left for another National 3 team in July 2019 in US Raon-l'Étape and it`s from the Lorraine-based side that he left to move to England.

Watson, 33, is an experienced centre-back who left Yaxley for Southern Division One Central outfit Bedford Town in February 2020.

Originally with Rushden & Diamonds, he went on to have spells with Cambridge City, Blackstones, Stamford, AFC Sudbury, Spalding United, Holbeach United and King`s Lynn Town, where he spent over five years, making over 150 appearances.
