Rovers were shocked when Iain O’Connell resigned from the Burroughs Park helm last week, having led them to the Essex Senior League title last term.
Taking over is the experienced Garry Kimble.
The 51-year-old former Doncaster Rovers, Gillingham, Peterborough United and Dagenham & Redbridge defender returns to management, having been in charge of Rovers` new league rivals Witham Town for almost five years and led the club from the Essex Senior League.
Another promotion, to the Isthmian Premier, followed in 2013/14 after a play-off final victory over Harlow Town but Kimble’s side lasted just a single season at Step 3.
Before taking the helm at Witham, Kimble managed Burnham Ramblers and Tilbury and was assistant boss to brother Alan at Aveley.
He is joined at Burroughs Park by an experienced management team of Johnny Ray, Curtis Whyte and Dave Patient. |
