The new structure is complete with several new appointments at the club, and hope that the club`s vision will ensure it can maintain safety this season, as well as develop a more sustainable long-term strategy in the future.

The new coaching team will consist of Mustafa Bashkal(pictured) as first-team coach, joining after having already done such an impressive job in a short period at Clapton FC.

He is a bright young coach at 32, having achieved his UEFA B licence and having an understanding of non-League football, having played for a number of teams since he was 18.

He comes with a degree in football coaching and nutrition, as well as being a qualified strength and conditioning coach.

He has previous experience of coaching at the professional levels in Cyprus and will form part of a coaching team with another coach to be announced in the near future.

Until the legalities are completed, and the announcement is made, Bashkal will be in charge of the team from the touchline.

The Tanners have also recruited Qayum Shakoor as the Head of Football.

Shakoor has been at Crawley Town for the past two seasons and has an extensive background and experience within non-League football, having been integral in the scouting, recruitment and mentoring of a number of players that have played at the highest level, as well as having assisted Leatherhead with the recruitment of several players in the past years.

To be able to secure someone as well thought of as Shakoor within non-League, and with his understanding of player recruitment at this level, is something that the club is excited about, with a view to building a more sustainable model for the long term.

Finally, Khush Johal will be joining the club as a Football Consultant, assisting with operational and logistical matters wherever the new coaches and head of recruitment will require his expertise and assistance.

Johal has 15 years of experience at differing levels within the football sector, as well as a number of high-profile contacts in the football industry.

The club will hope to leverage this when required with hope that the club can see a period of growth. Having a number of personnel channeling their energy into this club is something that will help us no end, and the recruitment process is still not over.

The new team will be working hard both on and off the pitch to develop the vision of the club in addition to generating some immediate results to help the club climb up the table this season. At the same time, the new team will be supporting the club in continuing to press through the appointment of the head coach, which the club will hope to announce in the near future.

This change is a big one for a club of Leatherhead`s size and relatively humble means, however, it is one that the club firmly believe will lead them to a better future both on and off the field.
