Pitching In Southern League Division One South club Cinderford Town have accepted the resignation of manager Steve Cleal following Saturday`s 5-2 home defeat to Winchester City.

Cleal joined the Foresters in July 2020.

 

Cleal, known to most as `Sooty`, was previously in charge of Hellenic League Premier Division side Bishops Cleeve where he was first-team manager for six years.

 

A former player with Cleeve as well as EFC Cheltenham, Cleal managed Gloucestershire Senior League outfit FC Barometrics from 2009 until 2014 having played for them before.

 

Cinderford chairman Stuart Tait told his club`s website: “May I take this opportunity of thanking Steve for his integrity and professionalism over the past 14 months. He will always remain a welcomed friend at the Causeway.

 

“In the interim, Will Morford has agreed to take the reins, no further statements will made at this time”.
