Defender Richard Platt (pictured) has been a Puritan before and returns to the Plant Hire Community Stadium after a spell with Vanarama National League South side Welling United.

The 24-year-old joined the Wings in July 2019 having been on the books at the likes of Belgian giants Anderlecht, the now defunct Rushden & Diamonds, North Leigh, Kings Langley, Bedford Town, Gloucester City and Hednesford Town as well as Banbury.

He spent the 2018/19 season at Southern Premier Division South side Chesham United and then now-Northern Premier Division One Midlands outfit Bedworth United.

Manager Andy Whing has also signed striker Chinedu Osadebe.

The 23-year-old progressed through Isthmian North side Witham Town`s under-18s and reserves to make his first team debut in 2016/17.

Strong and quick with a good footballing brain, he can play in midfield or upfront.

He returned to Witham in 2021 after a spell with Isthmian Premier side Bishop`s Stortford.
