Midfielders
Cameron Hargreaves and Zain Walker have joined Vanarama National League South
club Chippenham Town on loan from SkyBet League Two side Bristol Rovers.
Cameron
is the son of Chris Hargreaves, Rovers` academy manager, and joined Rovers from
Exeter City.
He
was included in the pre-season tour of Portugal ahead of the 2017/18 season and
made his debut for the senior side in the 5-1 EFL Trophy victory away to
Wycombe Wanderers, coming on as a substitute.
In
the 2018/19 campaign, Hargeaves spent some time on loan at Hungerford Town,
where he racked up 8 appearances.
The
2019/20 season was Hargreaves' breakthrough campaign, making his first League
appearances in a 1-0 victory over MK Dons, when he came on with 15 minutes to
go. He then started away from home against Fleetwood Town, which ended 0-0.
In
June of 2020, Hargeaves signed a new two-year deal with the club.
Walker (pictured) joined the Rovers academy at the age of 16 - arriving in Bristol from Fulham,
after being scouted at exit trials.
He's
an exciting attacking player who likes to take defenders on with his best
position off the left-wing coming in on his right foot but can play either side
or centrally.
He
made his first-team debut at just 16 as he came off the bench against Exeter
City in the Leasing.Com Trophy in 2018.
The
winger also shone in the 2019/20 FA Youth Cup campaign, where the Gas reached
the third round, scoring twice in the run. The last of which came against
Southampton, with Walker flashing through the centre of the park before burying
one in the bottom left from distance.
Both
are eligible for the Bluebirds game against Billericay Town tomorrow. |
