The attack-minded 36-year-old, who helped Sheffield United win promotion from League One to the Premier League within three years, featured for Tranmere during pre-season in the lead up to the start of the 2021/22 campaign and went on to earn a short-term deal, playing 3 times.

After starting out in the youth teams of Liverpool and Wrexham, Duffy played non-League football for Vauxhall Motors, Prescot Cables, Southport and Morecambe before moving into the Football League with Scunthorpe United in 2011.

He has since gone on to play over 300 League games for Scunthorpe, Doncaster Rovers, Birmingham City, Sheffield United and Fleetwood Town.
