Hippolyte made 55 appearances for the Iron since signing in August 2020, scoring 5 times.

The 27-year-old, who has previously played in the National League at Yeovil Town, has signed an initial deal until the end of the season.

He began his career as a young professional at Brentford, before spending time in non-League football with spells at Southall, Tamworth and Hayes & Yeading United.

Comfortable with both feet and with the pace and trickery to take on opponents, he is capable of playing on the left-hand side or through the middle as a number 10.

In 2014, he made the move north of the border to join Scottish Championship side Livingston and made over 200 appearances in Scottish football for a range of clubs.

He won the Scottish Challenge Cup in 2015 during his time at Livingstone and was part of the St Mirren side that won promotion to the Scottish Premier League in 2018 – either side of a successful spell at Falkirk that saw him score 15 goals in 66 appearances.

After a season at Dunfermline Athletic, he then returned to English football after joining Yeovil, following their relegation to the National League.

He scored 5 times in 31 appearances for the Glovers as they reached the play-offs, before signing for Scunthorpe that summer for an undisclosed fee.

He has been in fine recent form in recent weeks for the Iron too following the appointment of manager Keith Hill, with his performances seeing him nominated for the League Two player of the month award for December – despite the side struggling at the bottom of the Football League.

Stockport manager Dave Challinor told https://www.stockportcounty.com: “The opportunity to get Myles in is a great one for us. He knows the level and the level above us. His versatility will be massively important and give us good balance being naturally left sided. His energy, athleticism and ability to travel with the ball will undoubtedly add to the strength of the squad”.
