And
it’s not an unfamiliar face to Dolphins` supporters as prolific striker Toby
Holmes has re-joined the club having helped Taunton Town to win the Premier
Division South title with 17 goals in 34 games in 2021/22.
The
29-year-old joined the Peacocks from Salisbury in the summer of 2020.
His
early football career was spent playing locally for Parley Sports in the Dorset
Premier League where he was the league’s top scorer with 35 goals in 2014/15.
In
the first half of the following season he dual registered with Poole before he
switched to Dorchester Town for the latter part of the campaign.
His
career really took off when he joined Wimborne Town in the summer of 2016 where
in a three-year stint at the club scored 132 goals from just 143 appearances
and was joint winner of the Southern League`s `golden boot` award in 2017/18
when he also collected the managers` player of the year award at the Cuthbury.
After
leaving Wimborne in 2019 he signed for Salisbury and had found the net 21 times
in all competitions before the 2019/20 season came to a premature end.
He
has made an immediate impact at the Cygnet Health Care Stadium with some
clinical finishing, scoring on his competitive debut at Hayes & Yeading
United and going on to notch 11 goals from just 11 appearances before the
2020/21 campaign was cut short.
