Whites Swoop for Gillela

Pitching In Southern League Premier Division South club Salisbury have signed defender Dinesh Gillela from Vanarama National League North side Hereford FC.

The 22-year-old had joined the Bulls in January 2022 following a short spell with Isthmian League Premier Division side Lewes.

He signed for the Rocks in November 2021 from Salisbury’s league rivals Hayes & Yeading United, where he had been since September 2021.

His family hail from the Chennai region in India, and he was released by Championship side AFC Bournemouth at the end of the 2020/21 season.

He was a regular in the club's under-21 side, mostly as captain, leading them to two trophy wins last season. And has also spent time on loan at National League South side Billericay Town from January to May 2020 and at National League outfit Aldershot Town from February to May 2021.

The Camberley-born defender signed his first professional contract with the Cherries in July 2018.
