The
experienced 30-year-old returns to New Cuthbury after finishing last season in
the Wessex League Premier Division with Shaftesbury, where he moved to from
Southern Premier Division South side Poole Town in order to get more game time.
Burbidge
had originally joined the Magpies in the summer of 2018 on a permanent basis
from Poole having spent a successful loan spell with the club previous season.
He
first signed for the Dolphins from then-Wessex League neighbours Hamworthy
United in the summer of 2012.
Originally
with AFC Bournemouth where he featured as a regular in the youth team, he left
Poole for Weymouth in 2013 but returned six months later.
He
returned to Poole again in July 2020 before switching to Shaftesbury during the
latter part of last season.
James
Stokoe told the club’s website: “I’m really pleased to have got Burbs back,
he’s become a good friend of mine since he first arrived. He's one of the best
wingers around at this level locally.
"His
number of assists and goals wherever he’s played over the years speak for
themselves.
"Luke’s
experience and leadership will be invaluable in the attacking third of the
pitch.
"I’m
sure the fans will be pleased to see him back in a Wimborne shirt”. |
