Pilkington (pictured) signed for Northern Premier play-off winners Buxton in the summer of 2019
following an enforced three-year break from the game due to a betting ban.
He
spent his formative years with Sacred Heart and Denton West End before playing
for Abbey Hey and then a prolific spell at Ashton United where he was regarded
as one of the most lethal finishers in the league.
New
Cheadle boss Paul Marshall has raided Abbey Hey for Kyle McGonigle, Dylan
Norris, Jay Hamzat and Callum McGlynn.
Like
Pilkington, McGonigle is an experienced recruit, having originally been on the
books at Bury.
He
first signed for Mossley AFC on 'work experience` in March 2011 and then signed
for Woodley Sports in August 2011 following his release by the now defunct
Shakers but re-signed for Mossley in March 2012.
Released
in May 2012, he signed for Winsford United before returning to Mossley for a
third spell in the close season of 2013.
He
missed the entirety of the 2017/18 season through injury and then re-signed for
Winsford United in August 2019 before moving to Abbey Hey a year later.
