Pitching
In Southern League Premier Division South club Gosport Borough have announced
the signing of vastly experienced Danny Hollands for the coming season.
Hollands
joins having been playing in the Vanarama National League for Eastleigh and
comes to Boro with a wealth of experience which has made him a sought-after
player.
Now
36, Hollands made over 170 appearances for the Spitfires, scoring 14 goals.
He
had joined Eastleigh in May 2017 following the end of his contract with Crewe
Alexandra.
He
started his career at Hampton & Richmond Borough before moving on to
Chelsea, Torquay United, AFC Bournemouth, where he made almost 200 appearances,
Charlton Athletic, Swindon Town and Gillingham.
Speaking
to the club's website, manager Shaun Gale said: “It’s always tough trying to
get players signings across the line but we have in my view, captured a
magnificent signing for the club.
“Danny's
pedigree speaks for itself and it is so important that we have really
good senior players at the club who can lead & inspire some of the
younger players.
“Make
no mistake this is a great capture. Danny is extremely fit and wants
to carry on and win things with the Boro. He is still ambitious
and the ambitions of our club, was one of the things that attracted
him to come to Privett Park.
“He
is a good character to have around the place and an extremely good player.
We are delighted to have him with us”. |
