Pitching In Southern League Premier Division Central club Royston Town have made two more new signings.

And both move from Southern Division One Central neighbours Welwyn Garden City.

 

Midfielder George Ironton (pictured) had re-joined the Citizens in June 2019 having just missed out on promotion from the Spartan South Midlands League in 2018/19 with Tring Athletic.

 

The 26-year-old went back to Herns Lane work for his father Nicky having previously been him at Arlesey Town and Ware but has now moved on following his father’s resignation at the end of last season.

 

He has also turned out for Cockfosters and Hitchin Town.

 

Versatile defender or midfielder Jay Rolfe has also made the switch from Welwyn Garden City.

 

The 29-year-old, who performs well either at full-back, in central defence or midfield, was one of a number of players who joined the Citizens from Cockfosters for the 2017/18 season.

 

He was the Citizens` players` player of the season in 2017/18 and was previously with Hatfield Town and Colney Heath.
