Kenyon
brings a wealth of experience to the club and has signed a one-year contract
with the Blues.
The
29-year-old defensive midfielder started his career at Everton before featuring
at Chorley, Lancaster City and Stockport County.
In
2013, he moved to Morecambe where he made more than 250 appearances.
His
eight-year stay with the Shrimps ended with promotion into League One in his
final game for the club.
Kenyon
then signed for Scunthorpe United last summer, before moving on to Scottish
Championship side Ayr United at the back end of the campaign.
Manager
Calum McIntyre told https://www.chesterfc.com:
“I’m really pleased to get Alex on board for the coming season.
“He
came in with us at the start of pre-season and demonstrated his qualities. He
has obvious ability given the level he has consistently played at but what he
brings as a character and as a leader is exactly what we were after in our last
midfield addition.
“This
feels like the final piece of the jigsaw in midfield areas as we ensure we have
a variety of options in there in terms of attributes, age and experience”. |
