Experienced Keeper for Dynamo
Pitching In Northern Premier League Division One Midlands club Loughborough Dynamo have brought in experienced goalkeeper Lewis King.

The 29-year-old much travelled, highly respected keeper joins having been in his second spell with NPL Premier Division side FC United of Manchester.

 

He started out with Derby County before moving to the North East with Sunderland in 2009. In March 2012, he joined Stockport County on loan and the deal was made permanent the following August following his release by the by the Black Cats.

 

In September 2013 he joined Eastwood Town, but his time there ended two months later when the club was wound up. He then joined Boston United where he remained until the end of the season.

 

He spent the next year at Stalybridge Celtic and has since played for Matlock Town, FC United of Manchester, Glossop North End and Northwich Victoria.

 

He joined Mickleover Sports in the summer of 2016 where he remained for the best part of three seasons before making the move to Stafford Rangers in the summer of 2019.

 

Had a spell with then-North West Counties outfit Hanley Town before re-joining FC United in August 2021.

 

Dynamo’s head coach Brad Munn told https://www.loughboroughdynamofc.com: “We are thrilled to bring Lewis to the club as I feel we couldn’t just stand still and not bring a goalkeeper of his quality in.

 

“Circumstances have aligned, and it feels for both us and Lewis that this is the right move for him at this stage in his life and it is a great acquisition for the club.

 

“His experience at a great level and his character will only aid the dressing room and for our younger keepers he will be a great example to help them progress.

 

“We welcome him to the club and are excited to work with him this season”.
